Carriageworks is a registered COVID-Safe business. To ensure the wellbeing of our visitors, we are following strict guidelines set by NSW State Government and Live Performance Australia. Help us keep everyone safe by supporting our COVID-Safe plan.
If you feel unwell
Please do not visit if have experienced cold or flu like symptoms in the past 14-days, are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have returned from overseas or a hotspot area. Stay home and take care.
Wear a mask
We strongly recommend wearing a mask at all times when visiting Carriageworks, particularly when attending a live performance in one of our theatres.
Register at entry
All visitors are required by law to provide contact information for contact tracing. We have QR codes at entry so you can register with your phone. Please speak to a staff member if you need assistance.
Good hand hygiene
Please use hand sanitiser provided at entry and throughout the site.
Please practise physical distancing at all times. Avoid congregating in public areas, queue wherever indicated and always follow instructions from staff.
Attending a performance
On arrival, download your eTicket and have it ready on your mobile phone for scanning. If you do not have access to email, our box office team will assist you, but please keep interactions to a minimum. The box office will open 30-minutes before each event.
Follow staff guidance and head straight to your designated seat. Theatre capacities are restricted by a 4 square metre rule. For this reason, spare seats will be allocated between designated seats. You must sit in the seat assigned on your ticket. Patrons will not be permitted to change seats, as this will impact other audience members.
We have updated our terms and conditions to meet COVID-safety guidelines. Please refer to this for our ticket returns policy. Our presenting partners may have their own returns policy. Check partner websites for details.
Cloak room closed
Large bags and equipment will not be permitted in theatres. You may be denied entry to an event if you are carrying a bag or item larger than A4.
Food and drink
Under NSW Government regulations you cannot stand while consuming alcohol. If the cafe is open during your visit, please take a seat in the public space after purchasing a drink or snack. Please note we are prohibited from providing water stations or disposable cups.
Cashless payments only
Please bring a credit or debit card for any onsite purchases, as we accept cashless payments only.
Travelling to Carriageworks
We encourage travelling outside of peak hours.

Enhanced daily cleaning
We have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures across the precinct. This includes regular cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the day. Please be mindful of high traffic areas and keep touching to a minimum.
Carriageworks Farmers Market
The market will operate as a shop-and-go service for the community. Strict safety measures and a Visitor Code of Conduct are in place for the wellbeing of our visitors, stallholders and staff.

Carriageworks is easily accessible by train. Walk eight minutes from Redfern Station, ten minutes from Macdonaldtown Station or 15 minutes from Newtown Station.
Bus routes 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352 stop on City Road at Codrington Street, a five minute walk from Carriageworks.
There are bike lanes on nearby streets and bike racks within the Carriageworks precinct.
Limited on-site parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way. Enter via 229 Wilson Street. We encourage taking public transport when possible.
The loading dock roller door is located at the far side of the Carriageworks car park. Press the buzzer when you arrive.

In line with our COVID-Safe plan, all sales are online only. The box office will open 30-minutes before each performance for patron assistance, no sales.

Warning: do not purchase tickets from unauthorised re-sellers, such as Viagogo, eBay or Gumtree. These tickets may be invalid. Carriageworks is under no obligation to honour invalid tickets purchased via unauthorised re-sellers.

People who hold a valid Companion Card will be issued a complimentary ticket when they support a ticketholder with a disability or frailty. To reserve tickets please call Carriageworks on +61 2 8571 9100 10am-6pm daily. You may be asked to present your Companion Card at the event. Please note: other presenting companies may not always permit companion cards.
Carriageworks is wheelchair accessible. If you need a wheelchair, please see our staff at the visitor services desk on arrival or call +61 2 8571 9099 to arrange prior to your visit.
An access ramp leading to the main entrance is located at street level at 245 Wilson Street.
Accessible parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way. Enter via 229 Wilson Street.
Taxis can enter at 229 Wilson Street for level access entry.
The closest train station with wheelchair access is Newtown Station.
Facilities and services
The Carriageworks car park includes four mobility parking spaces.
Accessible toilets are located off the public space within the main building.
Service animals are welcome throughout the precinct.
Carriageworks does not have a hearing loop.
