I love this time of year!
The Carriageworks Christmas Market gives us the opportunity to expand on our already incredible weekly farmers market, by also including ethically produced craftsmanship and design to make this the perfect place to buy your festive food and gifts from local and regional NSW.
Our farmers and producers are doing it tough with the devastating fires and droughts taking place across vast areas of NSW, so our farmers markets are the perfect time to support our extended community. It is a great time to chat to our suppliers, build relationships, buy your Christmas roast and produce from a NSW farmer, learn their stories, and take them to the table so we can truly appreciate where and how our produce has been farmed and grown that we share with our loved ones.
This year you will find over 120 producers and artisans celebrating the best of the summer season. With a list of festive ideas, the Christmas Market is the perfect place for essentials like cherries, hams, oysters and cheese as well as gifts such as handcrafted ceramics, locally crafted wine and spirits from micro distilleries. We have all become much more aware of our impact on the environment and how we can reduce our waste and become more sustainable. What better way to do this than to give a meaningful edible gift to your loved ones. Besides choosing from a plethora of gift ideas, a great way to be inspired would be to immerse yourself in a hands-on cherry pickling workshop with Alex Elliott– Howery of Cornersmith being held at the market on the day. You can book tickets to the workshop here.
This year Carriageworks will be donating 100% of sales from all Carriageworks tote bags and honey to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
So…. choose food and gifts that will really make a difference and join Carriageworks and the Farmers Market in supporting NSW regional producers and rural communities with your Christmas dollar. #BuyRegional this Christmas.
