QUEUING PROCESS

Queue-it – What’s up with this ticketing queue?

The Queue-it system is a virtual waiting room that provides fairer and controlled access to the ticketing site. It’s in place to help manage the very high, rush-hour traffic flow of patrons looking to purchase tickets. You may have seen queue-it used by other online ticketing providers or peak-period holiday booking sites.

How does the queuing system work?

  • Before 10am AEST, Tuesday 27 August
If you click through from your Pre-Sale email before 10am AEST, Tuesday 27 August, you will land on a holding webpage. You can remain here or come back at 9am.
  •  At 10am AEST, Tuesday 27 August
Regardless of what time you landed on the holding webpage, you will be assigned a random place in line, along with everyone else who also arrives before the Pre-Sale begins at 10am AEST.
  •  After 10am AEST, Tuesday 27 August
If you join the Pre-Sale queue from 10.01am AEST, Tuesday 27 August, you will be placed at the back of the queue. From that time onwards, everyone who joins the queue is added to the line in the order in which they joined.

You will be able to track your place in the queue and your waiting time before getting to the webpage to buy tickets.

Do I have to keep my webpage open in order to stay in the queue?

Once you have your place in the queue, you have two options:

  • You can leave the webpage open and wait. If you do this, do not click refresh. Once it’s your turn, the ticketing page will automatically display and you will have 15 minutes to complete your transaction; or
  • You can pop your email into Queue-It to receive a link via email notifying you when you’re at the front of the queue. Keep in mind: e-mails may be moved to your spam folder or delayed. It’s best to check in on your queue status. Once it’s your turn, you will have 10 minutes from receiving the email to rejoin Queue-it using the link emailed to you, and then 15 minutes to complete your transaction. Make sure to check your spam for the email from Queue-It.

What if I miss the 10 minute window to rejoin the queue or don’t complete my transaction within 15 minutes?

If you miss your window of time to rejoin the queue or don’t complete your transaction within 15 minutes you will need to join the queue again, at which time you will be placed at the back of the queue.

How long will the queue be?

Providing an exact estimate of the wait time isn’t possible, as it will depend on how many people want to buy tickets at that particular time, and how long those in front of you in the queue take to complete their transaction and free up a place on the site.

Queue-it will show live updates on your place in the queue and your estimated wait time.

Will the queue be in place for the General Sale?

Yes, the same queuing system will apply to the General Sale, which will start at 10am AEST, Wednesday 28 August, if all tickets aren’t sold out during the Pre-Sale.
