Flavour and texture are at the forefront of The Gourmet Potato’s practice. Established in 1904, it combines the extraordinary skills of two Hill families who understand growing in the basalt soils of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and flavour, texture and nutritional integrity of potatoes. Unlike most potatoes in Australia which are grown in sand and substandard soils for fast growth, resulting in limited flavour and texture development. The Gourmet Potato prioritises the biomass of roots, plenty of worms, organic matter and structured soil on their farms to create perfect and extremely tasty potatoes.
