Vannella Cheese

Marrickville, New South Wales

Family-operated, Vannella Cheese origins begin in Conversano, Puglia, the birthplace of stallholder Pina Vannella. Her husband and head cheesemaker, Vito Minoia, eventually took on an apprenticeship in the town. Here he learnt how to create the perfect burrata – resh, stretched curd cheese that is filled with creamy stracciatella and then hand-tied. Upon moving to Australia, the Vanella-Minoia family brought with them their expertise and skill in cheesemaking. Based in Marrickville, Vannella Cheese now makes a variety of fresh, stretched curd cheeses that reflect the traditions of Italy, along with cheeses and dairy products inspired by the people they met in Australia.
