Solid Ground’s 2024 artists in residence have collaborated to create an immersive experience for this year’s NAIDOC celebration, following the theme “Keep the Fire Burning; Blak, Loud & Proud.”

High school and primary students from Alexandria Park Community School, Chifley College Bidwill, Chifley College Dunheved, and Evans High Blacktown have been working throughout the first two school semesters with their respective Artist in Residence, each teaching their own individual modes of storytelling (weaving, visual arts, poetry). Now, they come together to showcase their deadly works in a fully immersive and collaborative installation in the public space of Carriageworks.

This exhibition includes a special addition from a previous artist in residence from our 2020 program, Dennis Golding (he/him).

Open Wednesday – Sundays, 10am – 5pm

Shannon Smith aka ‘Monks’ (he/him)
Luke Patterson (he/him)
Nathan Leslie (he/him)
