Carriageworks presents cultural dance classes specifically for kids aged 4-9 to learn the stories, language, songs and dances from local Sydney custodians. Jannawi Dance Clan kick off our kids cultural dance classes in January, held in the Public Space during the Farmers Market.
Our 5-week course starts from Sat 4 Feb, attending every week of the course is encouraged but not essential.
Please note, this is not a drop-and-go class. A parent or carer must be present.
Join us for a weekly dance class starting on Sat 4 Feb at 10am. This is a 40 minute dance class for Indigenous and non-Indigenous kids. Attending every week is encouraged but not essential.

Jannawi Dance Clan is a community-based Indigenous dance company encompassing modern, urban and traditional dance styles. The name Jannawi means ‘with you, with me’ in the Darug language of New South Wales. Jannawi performs and teaches to inspire other Indigenous people to practise cultural values and identities. Committed to honour and share knowledge, they encourage awareness and understanding of the world’s oldest living Indigenous culture.
