Join First Nations Fellowship recipient Henrietta Baird (Kuku Yalandji/Yidinji) during the Farmers Market for three weeks for a free planting workshop in the First Nations Garden with Indigenous landscapers, Dhinawan. Together, visitors will learn about Henrietta’s focus on sustainability and land management and her commitment to looking after Country.
Each week will have a different focus. The first session takes place during NAIDOC Week which celebrates the important role that Elders have in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with the theme ‘For Our Elders.’ For this session, Henrietta has invited bush food educator Jody Orcher to speak on the topic of Native Food. Later sessions are focused on Connection to Country and Caring for Country.
