ALEXANDRIA PARK COMMUNITY SCHOOL &
COPE ST COLLECTIVE

Cope St Collective is a theatre, film, and multi-platform media group, whose name is in recognition of the Black Theatre (1972). The artists are currently working closely with Alexandria Park Community School and have created a drama club with the Indigenous students there. They aim to teach, create and inspire students in many platforms of the arts. Cope St Collective include Bjorn Stewart, Colin Kinchela, Kate Beckett, Kodie Bedford and Mathew Cooper and together they pay tribute to a long tradition of Indigenous theatre.

JO CLANCY

Jo Clancy is a descendant of the Wiradjuri people from the NSW Central West. Jo commenced her full-time dance training at NAISDA Dance College in 1990. She then went on to complete a BA in Dance at Western Sydney University. Upon graduating she worked as an independent Dance Artist performing and teaching throughout Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains and was Head of Dance at NAISDA Dance College from 2005-2007. Over the past twenty five years Jo has developed many Contemporary Aboriginal dance works and education projects for festivals and events throughout Australia and overseas. Jo is the founder and Director of the Wagana Aboriginal Dancers and teaches in schools and communities across NSW. Jo sits on the Board of Studies for NAISDA Dance College and coordinates their Create NSW Garabara Ngurra High School Dance Camp.

EVANS HIGH SCHOOL &
NICOLE MONKS

Nicole Monks is a trans-disciplinary artist of Yamatji Wajarri, Dutch and English heritage. A designer by trade, Monks crosses artforms to work with furniture and objects, textiles, video, installation and performance. Nicole is currently working with students from Evans High School to support their newly established Indigenous dance troupe, and give them creative insight to think outside the box.
