Stallholders announced for Carriageworks Night Market as part of Vivid Sydney 10 May 2023

The hugely popular Carriageworks Night Market returns on 16 June 2023 as part of Vivid Sydney’s brand new festival focus Vivid Food. Curated by Australia’s leading sustainable chef Matt Stone, the market will showcase over 45 stalls celebrating sustainable food practices and the best produce from across NSW, in line with Vivid Sydney 2023’s theme – Naturally.

Chef Matt Stone said: “It is with great excitement that the best of Sydney’s hospitality scene will come together to showcase diverse sustainable food practices and local produce. We have an impressive line-up of food and drink offerings from Bush Sydney’s celebration of native Australian produce, Oz Harvest’s zero waste vegetarian menu, to Brix Distillery’s exciting sustainable cocktail infused with by-products from Bourke Street Bakery. We hope visitors will come away with a renewed understanding of the wider environmental impact of their food choices, and an appreciation for the small positive changes that contribute to a more sustainable future.”

With a line-up of NSW’s leading restaurants and producers, highlights include Rico’s Tacos’ menu centred on the use of sustainable wild game; Vannella Cheese’s creative use of whey by-product from their own ricotta cheese production; OzHarvest’s sustainably sourced vegetarian menu, designed to be zero waste with any leftovers distributed to those in need; and a dessert from Messina including an apple galette made from rescued apples sourced from Farmers Pick.

Redfern-based restaurant Bush Sydney will showcase their signature dishes celebrating unique and often overlooked native Australian ingredients, sustainability harvested from the wild. Established in 2019, Bush Sydney celebrates the unique flavours and textures of Australian produce, with a particular focus on using ingredients that are ethically and sustainably sourced.

Further highlights include special menu offerings by restaurants Anason, Rockpool Bar and Grill, Porcine, Queen Chow, Spice Temple, Three Blue Ducks, Sake, Jimmy’s Falafel, Colombo Social, Kepos St Kitchen and Rising Sun Workshop, plus fresh produce from some of New South Wales’ best producers including LP’s Quality Meats, Bondi Oysters and La Bastide.

Visitors can also enjoy drinks by some of the best local bars and producers including Cantina OK!, Re, Jacoby’s Tiki Bar, Aristotelis Ke Anthoula, Archie Rose Distillery, Atomic, Wildflower, The Grifter, P&V Wine + Liquor Merchants and more.

Showcasing an exciting and diverse array of Sydney’s food scene including Native Australian, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, French, vegetarian and vegan, Carriageworks is set to come alive with local hospitality, food demonstrations and live entertainment.
