Klub Koori, a vibrant presentation of unique Aboriginal live music performances, returns to Carriageworks on Thursday 6 July in 2017 with an all female line-up headlined by the award-winning Casey Donovan. Showcasing emerging and established Aboriginal musicians, the line-up includes Jess Beck, Mi-Kaisha Masella and Thaylia.

Presented in partnership by Carriageworks and Koori Radio 93.7FM, Klub Koori coincides with NAIDOC Week 2017. Themed ‘Our Languages Matter’, NAIDOC Week and Klub Koori celebrate the importance, resilience and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

The 2017 line-up includes:

– Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan
– Sydney-based artist Jess Beck of indie/pop band Pirra
– 16 year old songstress Mi-Kaisha Masella who has been featured on The Voice Kids and The Sapphires movie
– Electonic-folk singer-songwriter-producer Thaylia

Klub Koori is a regular event produced by Sydney’s only Aboriginal community radio station, Koori Radio 93.7FM, with strong community support, providing both established artists and young emerging artists the opportunity to perform, sharing their stories and culture with Carriageworks’ large and diverse audience. Klub Koori promotes the significant capabilities of Indigenous musicians and advocates for a broader appreciation of Aboriginal arts and culture.

Klub Koori provides a gathering place that welcomes all supporters and community to engage with contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music and offers an opportunity for people to join in celebrating Australia’s rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.
