CARRIAGEWORKS PRESENTS ERTH’S DINOSAUR ZOO THIS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS – A ‘ROAR-SOME’ ADVENTURE FOR ALL AGES! 11 Jun 2024

Sydney, Australia: Carriageworks will present Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo, an interactive performance where children (and the young-at-heart) will delight in encountering the insects and dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth, during the winter school holidays from 16-20 July.

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo features a menagerie of insects and dinosaurs, from baby dinos to some of the largest carnivores and herbivores that have ever walked the planet. The amazing array of prehistoric creatures includes the most recent zoo addition, a carnivorous theropod discovered in Queensland known as the Australovenator.

Erth’s dinosaurs are unmistakably ‘alive,’ and mostly friendly, in this fun, educational and original performance, connecting young audiences to the real science of palaeontology. Children from five years and up can watch wide-eyed from a safe distance or dare to get right up close to these prehistoric creatures, learning how to feed and interact with Erth’s dinosaurs in a once in a lifetime interactive experience

For over thirty years Erth’s puppetry-based theatrical productions and innovative community projects have challenged and inspired audiences, and millions of people worldwide have enjoyed the spectacle and science of Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo. A resident company of Carriageworks, this season of performances marks an exciting return home for Erth, as its first show at the iconic venue in almost five years.

Erth Artistic Director and Co-Founder, Scott Wright, said: “We are incredibly excited to wow children and families this school holidays with Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo at Carriageworks, as our one-of-a-kind performance offers audiences the chance to get up close with the astounding dinosaurs that once roamed the planet. We’re so grateful to be part of the Carriageworks family and to be bringing this show home to this iconic venue. Carriageworks’ support has really pushed Erth to new heights, and it was pivotal in this show becoming an indoor event that has gone to sell out shows in venues all around the world, entertaining and educating millions.”

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo forms part of the creative precinct’s newly introduced Carriageworks Stages program, which will present an array of stages works in 2024. This includes expanded family programming throughout the year, such as Circa’s Carnival of the Animals in October and Creature from Box of Birds / Stalker Theatre in December.

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo will be at Carriageworks during the winter school holidays from 16-20 July, and tickets are on sale now.
