Carriageworks announces new headliner for Astral People Vivid Party as part of Vivid Sydney 29 May 2023

Legendary American DJ and producer Madlib will return to Australia for the first time in over ten years

Carriageworks today announced American DJ and producer Madlib will join the line-up for the Astral People Vivid Party on 10 June as part of Australia’s largest festival, Vivid Sydney 2023. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Flying Lotus has cancelled their Australian dates and will no longer be performing at the event.

Returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade, Madlib is unequivocally one of the most celebrated, prolific and defining artists of our generation. A DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and archivist his catalogue of classics is immense, and he has produced for the likes of De La Soul, Kanye West, Erykah Badu, Black Star, MED, Blu, Guilty Simpson, Strong Arm Steady and more.

A true original, he will perform as part of Astral People’s night of far-reaching sounds led by some of today’s most daring figures. A full venue takeover, the line-up includes Liv.e, making her highly anticipated Sydney debut; Night Slugs celebrating 15 years of club culture with Bok Bok and Girl Unit; Skeleten; Close Counters; Elle Shimada; Club Angel; Crybaby; Crescendoll; Munasib; and Isa.
