The Huxleys Exhibition Guide

Bloodlines is multi art form exhibition which honours and worships legendary artists lost to HIV/AIDS. A loving tribute to the many influential voices silenced by the HIV/AIDS epidemic of the 1980’s and 90’s. The Huxleys work evokes the colourful rebellious and creative spirit of these queer saints – artists that helped shift the worlds of queer art and culture into new realms.

The work pays a heartfelt debt to artists who paved the way and informed and inspired the practices of The Huxleys and countless other artists working today.

Utilising their skills of costume design, performance and photography The Huxleys work is designed as a joyous sparkling séance, celebrating queer excellence. Interpreting each artist’s influence and oeuvre in a uniquely Huxley fashion.

Designed as an evolving project, with new quilt panels to be submitted over time. Creating a dialogue of queer storytelling and history never to be forgotten.

Written by The Huxleys, Jules Pascoe & Angus Leslie Lyrics by The Huxleys / Performed by The Huxleys

Bloodlines is a heartfelt disco opus that tells the story of the beautiful bodies and queer icons who disappeared into the velvet night.

Gone to soon from the disco to the moon. We hope this song keeps the spirit of queer dance floors and sweaty bodies swaying under the mirror ball for eternity.

Mighty Real, The Huxleys, 2022
HD Video, 16:9, 6:20 mins

A love letter to the luminaries of queer utopia. Footage from far and wide, joining the dots of our gay liberation and delivering us to ‘evil’, now and forever. We adore you. The Huxleys attribute all copyright to the original owners of this glorious footage. Intended as a loving homage and tribute with no ownership of archival material.
