Bloomberg Philanthropies and Carriageworks have established a major partnership to support local Indigenous artists. Carriageworks’ Indigenous Program aims to empower and celebrate Indigenous culture and artists in Australia, leading to real impact and engagement. As part of the partnership, Bloomberg Philanthropies has supported major projects: Nick Cave UNTIL in 2018, The National: New Australian Art in 2019 and 2021, an exhibition which included six major Indigenous commissions across both iterations; The Clothing Store Artist Studios – Indigenous Artist in Residence; Daniel Boyd: Video Works and the celebrated art marketplace, SOUTHEAST Aboriginal Arts Market.
Bloomberg Philanthropies’ support continues to make a valuable contribution to presenting new work by Indigenous artists across art forms and enables Carriageworks to offer digital content and free public programs to local communities. This partnership nurtures and expands the creation of Indigenous culture and philanthropy and reflects our joint commitment to strengthening the creative landscape that is critical to social and economic vibrancy in cities.
