SOFTCORE consists of ten queer Australian short experimental works from the 1980s to now, alongside a feature film by Berlin-based Emre Busse and Selin Davasse. The Softcore films centre pleasure and sexuality through deferral, suspension, ambiguity and play. The artist’s position form as their fetish object, allowing us to revel in gestures that are isolated from normative notions of sexual pleasure and fulfilment.
Artists include: Archie Barry, Hannah Brontë, EO Gill, Megan Holloway and Kingskin, Joe Pol, Samia Sayed, Tarik Ahlip, Stephen Cummins and Simon Hunt, Kellie Henneberry, Emre Busse and Selin Davasse
