Known for portraying Charlotte in the HBO series Sex and the City, UNHCR High Profile Supporter Kristin Davis is coming to Australia for a series of UNHCR events including the launch of the diverse 2016 Queer Thinking series. Following her 2015 mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, Davis joins Naomi Steer, National Director of Australia for UNHCR in conversation at Carriageworks to discuss UNHCR’s work preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). In light of the high levels of SGBV in conflict settings worldwide and the growing number of asylum claims based on gender or sexual orientation, this is a rare and urgent conversation on prevention and response.
