Yuwalaaraay/Yorta Yorta composer and performer Warren Mason loops the natural sounds of his homeland, haunting tune of his guitar, the spoken word of multiple languages and singing styles of his old people. Creating an intricate tapestry of sound interwoven with choreography by Jasmine Gulash (Gubbi Gubbi), performed by Jo Clancy (Wiradjuri) and Aunty Bronwyn Spearim-Hoy (Gomeroi), tracing tracks leading back from the past.

First Developed at the 10th anniversary Yellamundie Festival in 2023. Healing Scars was one of six newly developed performing art works across playwriting, sound and movement. Since its inception in 2013, the Yellamundie Festival has risen as an international beacon for First Peoples talent.
