Led by Artistic Director Danielle Micich, Force Majeure produces critically acclaimed dance theatre to explore and question contemporary culture. Using our unique blend of storytelling and movement, we create unforgettable theatrical experiences to reflect Australian life in all its diversity, igniting curiosity in audiences, and inspiration in artists.
A resident company at Carriageworks, our original and boundary-pushing productions are created through a deep sense of collaboration to form lasting and award-winning partnerships with Australia’s leading artists, festivals and arts companies.
As an industry leader, we invest deeply in artist and artform development so that we set the standard for excellence in Australia. We do this by training and mentoring both established artists and the next generation through our INCITE program, and producing new works by leading independent dance artists, such as Kristina Chan, Ghenoa Gela and Byron Perry.
Force Majeure was established in 2002 by Founding Artistic Director Kate Champion.
