Astral People presents a night of far-reaching sounds led by some of today’s most daring figures. A full venue takeover – they descend on Carriageworks for Vivid Sydney, with Madlib, one of the most celebrated, prolific and defining artists of our generation. He is joined by Liv.e, making her highly anticipated Sydney debut. On the second stage we celebrate 15 years of club culture renegades Night Slugs. Bok Bok & Girl Unit will melt the concrete superstructure with their trademark brand of innovative bass fusion.

The full line-up includes Madlib (US), Liv.e (US), Night Slugs 15: Bok Bok & Girl Unit (UK), Skeleton, Close Counters, Elle Shimada, Club Angel, Crybaby, Crescendoll, Munasib and Isa.

嶋田会希–Elle Shimada is a violinist, producer, curator, DJ and multi-instrumentalist from Tokyo based in Melbourne. Her unique combination of thickly layered string lines making tender love to heavy new-jazz influenced beats creates a cinematic and other-worldly atmosphere while keeping the dance floor pulsing with visionary and edgy production.

Heavily inspired by late 90s UK dance music, Club Angel explores the moodier side of 2-Step, Jungle and Garage with tight drums, sampled orchestral stabs and melancholic vocals.

Crybaby is a Melbourne (Naarm) based DJ who is known for bringing multifarious and energetic sets to spaces across Australia. With a cultured palette, she unites a perfect balance of house, hip hop and everything in between, exposing new sounds to party goers and delivering them a different medium to digest music.

Crescendoll is a Gamilaraay woman and Eora based DJ. Selected for FBi's Dance Class 2020 program, she flirts with juke, jersey, footwork, hard drum, UK bass, garage and acid and is an appreciator of all things club.

Your favourite artist’s favourite DJ, Munasib combines baile funk with local hip-hop, alte cruise with amapiano, and traditional Bengali music with experimental trap.
