As the sun starts to peek out and spring approaches, a new crop of flowers begin to bloom. Chris and Rosie May of Mayfarm Flowers, chatted with us about their upcoming spring harvest.
At our farm blossoms are just beginning. I’ve noticed the crab apple has green shoots, the lilac buds are swelling and the roses shooting. At the moment, we are picking hellebore or winter rose, daphne and pieris. Of all the flowers that bloom in spring, Lilly of the Valley would be my favourite which is very popular at the moment in a wedding bouquet. The cool winter has added such colour and texture to our harvest and when spring arrives, nature adds the fragrance.
Happy beginnings and love to all,
Chris and Rosie May
