Carriageworks is currently closed to the public as we undergo significant refurbishment works to our precinct that will enhance the experience for all artists, performers, event partners and visitors. You can still visit the Carriageworks Farmers Market every Sat 8am – 1pm.
The refurbishment is being undertaken by Create Infrastructure and Public Works NSW and includes improving our technology with sustainable lighting systems, new theatre floors as well as upgrading the fabric of the building.

Carriageworks is a COVID safe business and the health and safety of our visitors, producers, contractors and staff is our top priority. The following safety requirements will be in effect from 1 May 2022.
If you feel unwell
Please do not visit if you have experienced cold or flu like symptoms in the past 7 days, or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test. Stay home and take care.

Masks are strongly recommended to be worn in all public spaces within the precinct, and are required to be worn at all times within seated theatre settings. We strongly encourage that masks continue to be worn at our outdoor venues including the Carriageworks Farmers Market. Please bring your own mask.
Good hand hygiene
Please use hand sanitiser provided at entry and throughout the site.
We advise maintaining physical distancing whenever practicable.
Attending a performance
On arrival, download your eTicket and have it ready on your mobile phone for scanning. If you do not have access to email, our box office team will assist you, but please keep interactions to a minimum. The box office will open 30-minutes before each event.

Carriageworks Farmers Market
Masks are still strongly recommended. If you feel in any way unwell, even with a cold or mild illness, please do not visit the market.
The cloak room will be open during regular opening hours with strictly limited capacity.

Carriageworks is easily accessible by train. Walk eight minutes from Redfern Station, ten minutes from Macdonaldtown Station or 15 minutes from Newtown Station.
Bus routes 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352 stop on City Road at Codrington Street, a five minute walk from Carriageworks.
There are bike lanes on nearby streets and bike racks within the Carriageworks precinct.
Limited on-site parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way. Enter via 229 Wilson Street. We encourage taking public transport when possible.
The loading dock roller door is located at the far side of the Carriageworks car park. Press the buzzer when you arrive.
Tickets for all events at Carriageworks can be purchased through the Carriageworks website. They can also be purchased over the phone and onsite at the box office during opening hours Wed-Sun 10am-5pm. See What’s On to find upcoming events.

People who hold a valid Companion Card will be issued a complimentary ticket when they support a ticketholder with a disability or frailty. Please note: other presenting companies may not always permit companion cards.

An access ramp leading to the main entrance is located at street level at 245 Wilson Street.
Accessible parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way. Enter via 229 Wilson Street.
Taxis can enter at 229 Wilson Street for level access entry.
The closest train station with wheelchair access is Newtown Station.
Facilities and services
The Carriageworks car park includes four mobility parking spaces.
Accessible toilets are located off the public space within the main building.
Service animals are welcome throughout the precinct.
Carriageworks does not have a hearing loop.
