Healing Scars
Healing Scars blends sound, movement, and story into a powerful in-development work by Yuwalaaraay/Yorta Yorta composer Warren Mason. Blending the natural sounds of his homeland, layered guitar, and spoken word, Warren’s composition features choreography from Gubbi Gubbi choreographer Jasmine Gulash and Wiradjuri artist Jo Clancy, tracing tracks that lead deep into memory.
A raw, cathartic exploration of the healing journey First Nations people undertake, it confronts the grief carried through generations, offering a space for reconciliation and resilience.
Presented by Moogahlin Performing Arts.

Warren Mason was born in Dirranbandi, south east Queensland in 1969. Growing up in Goodooga, a small aboriginal community in north west New South Wales.
Warren is a self-taught artist, therefore giving him the opportunity to embed himself into the art and music he creates, laying bare who he is and where he comes from. This allows him not to conform to the status quo giving the chance to experiment and create new and innovative art..
Warren is the founder of Tin Camp Studios. A relocatable, music, art and workshop space, that debuted in 2021.
Tin Camp Studios provide a safe and welcoming space for unique music and cultural events. The studios are constructed from salvaged materials and modelled on typical 1950s Aboriginal housing that could be found on the fringe of countless Australian townships.
