RADIO NATIONAL BOOKS & ARTS | LAKE DISAPPOINTMENT BY LACHLAN PHILPOTT & LUKE MULLINS

April 18, 2016

Presenter: Michael Cathcart
Producer: Fiona Gruber

What identity do body doubles have? What relationship do they have with the stars they’re standing in for?
Kane is an actor who’s going places and his rise to fame has been good news for his body double, too.
They’re heading for mega-budget action-movie stardom, but before that takes place they’ve both signed on for a small budget indie picture, Lake Disappointment.
The double is asked to arrive early in order to save Kane time, but once he gets to the shoot’s remote mountain location, he realises there’s something rather odd going on.
The play is a collaboration between playwrights Lachlan Philpott and Luke Mullins, who also plays… the double.
