KEIR CHOREOGRAPHIC AWARDS | EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN MAY 2019
The Keir Choreographic Award (KCA) is a national biennial award dedicated to commissioning new Australian choreographic works, delivered through a partnership between Carriageworks and Dancehouse and made possible by the support of the Keir Foundation and the Australia Council.
Launched in 2014, the Keir Choreographic Award works with a high-profile national and international jury to commission local artists to make new, original pieces of contemporary dance. The KCA public program runs concurrently with the performance season, providing a vital context for related and relevant discourse.
– Emerging, established and mid-career artists are encouraged to apply.
– Eight applicants will be selected to develop and present a new work. The work must be between 15 and 20 minutes long and involve a maximum of five performers.
– Either the applicant OR one of the main collaborators must be a choreographer.
The guidelines and application form will be available to download from Mon 20 May 2019.
