Artists possess a unique ability to make connections with communities and explore their culture, idiosyncrasies and socio-political machinations. Featured on this panel are four 19th Biennale artists who have embedded themselves in communities or certain geographic locations to develop works with a sociopolitical focus. The conversation will examine the challenges and rewards of this process, as well as how it might affect the format, composition and reception of the resulting artworks. Presented by Carriageworks and the 19th Biennale of Sydney.
