October, 2007: Marou Awanis, 49 and Geneva Jalal, 30 are shot dead on a busy Baghdad street by contractors from Australian company Unity Resources Group when their car allegedly “failed to stop”. Their deaths dragged Australian companies into a furious international debate over the ever-increasing role of private contractors in war zones. Widely acclaimed theatre makers Version 1.0 take this incident as a starting point for a new Australian work that investigates war, commerce and the price of privatisation. Presented by Carriageworks and Version 1.0.
