The Moment of Disappearance presents four interlinking film and sound works to create an atmospheric multi-sensory environment. Inspired by visual artist Kate McMillan’s interest in concealed histories, dark moments and hidden sound, the work was created via film shoots on four island locations – Tasmania, Isle of Wight, Wadjemup (Rottnest Island) and Pontikonisi. Each island site is connected to the other through histories of imprisonment and colonialism. This immersive work reminds us that whilst things cannot always be seen and heard, they leave traces in the landscape. Presented by Carriageworks and Performance Space.
