Sydney Chamber Opera’s 2017 Masterclass focuses on the rehearsal and presentation of contemporary music using the company’s world-class musicians and singers. SCO is renowned for its ability to present complex contemporary music to the highest level, and this two-day masterclass lead by Artistic Director Jack Symonds is open to composers who want to learn how to rehearse their pieces, and conductors who wish for more experience in rehearsing contemporary music. Compositions will be workshopped by the musicians and singers, and performed with the composer conducting. Conductors will prepare set work/s which they will workshop and perform with the musicians.
