Seven of Sydney’s major arts and cultural institutions are all open late every Wednesday night throughout summer. We have put together an special free late night program for February:

WEDNESDAY 1 FEB 7 – 9PM

IN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – CHILDREN OF GODS A unique opportunity to observe and participate in the creative process of internationally acclaimed choreographer director Lemi Ponifasio who is creating a new work Children Of Gods. Children Of Gods is an epic work that goes beyond theatre and dance. Children Of Gods invites the community to join in preparation and cooperation for a rite of transformation – a ceremony led by children – in response to current global scenes of terror and death, of refugees and displaced people. Ponifasio collaborates with over 400 members of Sydney’s community to reflect on the journey of migrant children across the world who are seeking a place of peace and new beginning. Children Of Gods is a pilgrimage, to seek the light, the divine, beauty and self-realisation. FREE – SOLD OUT

SYDNEY CHAMBER OPERA Join the critically acclaimed Artistic Director of the Sydney Chamber Opera Jack Symonds for an intimate recital with SCO Artistic Associates. SCO is renowned for its innovative programming, musical rigour and compelling theatre-making. SCO creates opera with a 21st-century outlook that resonates with a new, younger audience, and that shows how vibrant and relevant the artform can be. FREE – SOLD OUT

WEDNESDAY 15 FEB

THE REHEARSAL Attend an exclusive screening of The Rehearsal, Alison Maclean’s vibrant screen adaptation of the debut novel by The Man Booker Prize winner, Eleanor Catton. First-year acting student, Stanley (James Rolleston), goaded by his domineering acting teacher Hannah (Kerry Fox) channels the real-life experience of his girlfriend’s family into art and sets off a moral minefield. WEDNESDAY 22 FEB 7PM

DOCTOR COOPER OPEN STUDIO (IN THE THICK OF THE FLOWERS) Lisa Cooper is a florist, artist, author, doctor of philosophy and permanent artist resident of Carriageworks. Cooper’s work has been featured in many Australian and international books, magazines, journals and television programs. While her distinctive flower work is commissioned by some of the most celebrated in business and the arts.  Her book, The Flowers, published in 2015 is sold around the world. FREE – SOLD OUT
