Birrang provides creative and professional development opportunities for Indigenous dance artists based in NSW.
Birrang builds the capacity of artists to realise their own goals, share ideas and practices and acquire the skills and networks that will strengthen their careers and the Indigenous dance sector across NSW.
Initiated in 2013, the Birrang program has achieved significant outcomes for the participating artists including the development of new work. The program is for artists working across the spectrum of cultural and creative dance – whether that be in a community context, education and/or performance and touring.
Birrang is supported by Arts NSW and coordinated by Ausdance NSW, Regional Arts NSW and Bangarra Dance Theatre in partnership with NAISDA Dance College, Carriageworks and the Australian Film, Television & Radio School.
