Phaptawan Suwannakudt

Phaptawan Suwannakudt is a Sydney-based artist who trained in Thailand as a mural painter in her late father’s workshop. She went on to complete 10 commissioned projects for public spaces throughout Thailand from 1982 -1995. She is currently an artist in residence at the Clothing Store and presents two workshops for this series.

CONTEMPORARY THAI ART

Between 2003-16 Suwannakudt has undertaken numerous artist residencies in Thailand. Ahead of next year’s first Bangkok Biennale to be held at sites including the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Suan Lumpini Park and ancient temples along the Chao Phraya River, this workshop provides a rare view into the practical, cultural and personal experiences of living and working as a contemporary artist in Thailand.

Recommended for artists, administrators, and those with a special interest in contemporary and South East Asian Art and Culture.
