CARRIAGEWORKS CHRISTMAS FARMERS MARKET | MEDIA RELEASE 30 Nov 2017

The Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Market brings together more than 115 leading producers and providores on Saturday 23 December from 8am until 1pm. This year’s Christmas Market is focused on food and produce, offering Sydneysiders the opportunity to buy fresh seasonal produce and food-related gifts, ranging from hams, lambs and seafood, to fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses and Christmas puddings, sourced from some of the best producers in New South Wales.

Visitors to the Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Market will be able to purchase fresh produce from their favourite regular stallholders from the weekly Carriageworks Farmers Markets including Christmas hams from Linga Longa Farm, poultry from Burrawong Gaian and Thirlmere Poultry Supply, seasonal fruits including cherries, mangoes, nectarines and peaches from Kurrawong Organics and Drive in Orchards, fresh seafood from Wandillyan Seafood, sparkling wine for Christmas day from Freeman Vineyards and Christmas specials such as Christmas puddings and gluten free mince tarts and gingerbread from Kitchen Green. As well as produce there will be food themed gift stalls with unique gifting of ceramics, cookbooks, aprons and more.

Carriageworks Farmers Market Creative Director Mike McEnearney said: “Summer at Carriageworks Farmers Market is one of my favourite times of the year, bursting with incredible produce to share with friends and family during the festive season. The Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Market is only two days before Christmas so it’s the perfect time to buy your produce directly from the producer at its freshest, and why not top up with last minute gifts. In my mind this is an opportunity that cannot be missed.”

The 2017 Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Market follows on from the success of the past two Christmas Markets in 2015 and 2016. It builds upon the much-loved weekly Carriageworks Farmers Market, recognised as one of Australia’s leading Artisan farmers markets, that welcomes more than 5,000 people every Saturday and supports over 120 local producers from throughout New South Wales.

Once the shopping is done, visitors can grab a bite to eat from weekly stallholders such as Billy Kwong, Bar Pho and Moobi Valley Farm, and purchase boutique NSW wines and spirits for Christmas festivities from Eloquesta Wines, Slow Wine Co. and Vale Creek Wines, Archie Rose Distilling Co. The market will also host additional food trucks and food stalls by Agape Organic, Bibim Bowl, 2 Smoking Barrels and more.

Entry to the Christmas Farmers Market is free of charge.
