Alison Richardson explores disability led practices in theatre and inclusive training and mentoring programs.

Alison Richardson is a co-collaborator and director with Sydney based disability led contemporary performance ensemble, RUCKUS, since it’s inception in 2011. Alison has worked extensively as a theatre director and tutor for community theatre companies, Powerhouse Youth Theatre, Shopfront Theatre, PACT Theatre and Australian Theatre for Young People.
This report details Alison’s 2015 Churchill Fellowships research trip exploring disability led theatre and inclusive mentoring and training programs primarily across the UK and also Sweden and Norway. Alison centred the trip around the biannual Unlimited Festival at Southbank Centre, London where she worked with a range of different artists with disabilities in the UK.
